10th Texas Infantry Regiment. The Regiment was deconsolidated from the 6th & 15th Texas

* CAMP NEAR DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA
On this day, the soldiers of the Army of Tennessee surrendered to U.S. Army, Commanded
by Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman. There were 80 officers, non-commissioned officers, and
men present that comprised the 10th Texas Infantry Regiment.
On April 9, 1865, the Regiment was consolidated with the rest of Granbury's Brigade into
one regiment, called "1st Texas Consolidated Regiment" or Granbury's Consolidated Brigade.
Companies D & E of that command comprised what was left of the 10th Texas Infantry:
Company A - 5 Company E - 7 Company H - 10
Company B - 8 Company F - 10 Company I - 5
Company C - 11 Company G - 14 Company K - 6
Company D - 6
Notes:
The totals above were tabulated with the creation of a
regimental database, that was designed with a folder for each man of the
regiment; along with tabs for each of the 13 Bi-Monthly Muster Rolls taken
during the command's existance. Then after inputing the records of each man,
from the Compiled Service Records of the 10th Texas Infantry (on microfilm), the
status (present or absent) of each member of the regiment into said data base, I
was able to sort, and reconstruct the muster totals as listed above.
