Notes

This document as, with the previous ordnance receipt of this date, are most substantial to this regiment's research as to the weapons the men of the 10th Texas Infantry were using at this time period. Eventhough 1,800 small arms were captured at Pickett's Mill, you will that the regiment was still being supplied with 54 cal. ammuntion; albiet they received twice as much ammunition for their newly acquired 107 Springfield rifles.

Although regimental records have not yet been found to indicate exactly when the 10th Texas Infantry became fully outfitted with the larger caliber weapons, by the Inspection Report of Granbury's Brigade given at East Point, Georgia on August 25, 1864, noted that of the 146 men of the 10th Texas Infantry available for duty, all but 6 were armed with "Springfield and Enfield Rifles." The 6 not carrying these arms, were deficient of any weapons at all.
