March 16-18, 2012
There
will be no registration fee to take part in this event but you must be
registered so they know who is planning on attending. Unit portrayed
will be Co. C, 47th Illinois who served as Popes's escort at the time.
For those of you that would like to read up a little on what happened
here prior to the event, there are some sources out there that you
should be able to tap into. Island No. 10 and the New Madrid siege were
sandwiched in between Ft. Donelson and Shiloh so they tend to get
overshadowed if not downright ignored by many writers.

150th
Anniversary of the Battle of Shiloh
Near Shiloh National Battlefield, TN
March 30 - April 1, 2012
The
Armory Guards will be taking part in both the Confederate and Federal
side of this event with the primary focus on the Confederate
impression. For the Confederate side, we will be falling in with a
battalion protraying the 6th
Mississippi under the command of
Patrick Landrum. The 6th Mississippi sustained heavy casualties during
the assaults at Shiloh, earning it the title of “The Bloody
Sixth”. We will be forming Company A with the Breckinridge
Grays. This company will be command by Chad Wrinn.
For those that wish to go Federal for this event, we will be falling in
with the Western Independent Grays, portraying the 15th
Iowa Infantry Regiment. This
regiment arrived at the battle via steam ship which the WIG will be
recreating. They have rented a paddle wheeler to transport the regiment
which will then be followed by a march directly into the battle. Our
very own Vice President, Keiv Thomason will be commanding Company A.

a One Day Drill for the AG as well as make inroads with a new venue for
the group.

POC: Ricky Jones and Herb CoatsMaryland, My Maryland - 150th Anniversary of the Battles of Antietam and South Mountain
Boonsboro, Maryland
Sept 7-9, 2012
This is the BIG battle reenactment of South Mountain and Antietam for the 150ths. There is a good amount of buzz for this. Herb Coats has an AG company that will be “Antietam sized”. The impression is the 4th Texas. We will be following scenarios that are pertinent to the command. Impression is worn and dirty gear! We are leaning towards plain or RD Type I jackets for the entire company.
POC: Herb CoatsBattle of Perryville Park, KY
Oct 5-6, 2012
This is one of the best preserved battlefields in the US. Some of the best large reenactments have been at Perryville in the past. There is a large push within the campaigner community to go as a large Federal battalion. This one is worth the trip to central Kentucky. Put on the little used blue suit, and enjoy a 150th event on the actual battlefield.
