Military Command:

Tripp Corbin of the Armory Guards will be the fort’s commandant for the event’s duration. Tripp is also currently the commander of the WIG and has helped host many authentic style events so he is well suited for managing the garrison.

Kiev Thomason will be in command of the Republican Blues Company. Kiev is also a member of the Armory Guards, a Bummers ’09 event staffer, as well as a current company commander in the WIG.

Joe Blunt will be commanding Co. G of the 63rd Georgia. Joe has been in leadership positions from a company on up to a battalion so he is well suited to be the fort’s second company commander. He is also a frequent volunteer to Ft. McAllister State Park and is very familiar face at the fort.

Event Staff

Jordan Roberts and Herb Coats are the main event staff members for “Guarding Savannah.” Both were members of the Bummers ‘09 event staff and each has help coordinated various events. Jordan and Herb are dedicated Living Historians of the Civil War era and they feel that an event based on actual history plus being lucky enough to host an event on the original site will make for an outstanding event.

There is a maximum number set for 100 men for the garrison for the event with 50 men per company. Company officers and garrison staff are not included.

There will be no specialty impressions at this event without the event staff’s prior approval.
