Caps & Kepis

I offer several different styles of caps and kepis. These are all based on caps from private or museum collections I have viewed or my friends have seen and documented. I also own an original kepi block (see picture on the right) to mold them on that helps me gain the right shape and contour of the ones made during the war.

All kepis bodies are made with jeans cloth from Ben Tart or Family Heirloom Weaver or County Cloth. The linings are made of shirting or osnaburg. They all bare my stamp inside and have either a painted cloth or leather bill, your choice. If you choose leather I can dye it with iron dye or London tan. The iron makes it black and the London tan is a reddish brown color.

I also make painted or glazed kepis based on the ones issued along the southern coast. They are the same as above but the body is made of canvas or dusk cloth and painted with period paint mixture. Color include Red ,blue or black. You choose! These cost $90 plus shipping.

All caps are made to order and take about three weeks. Cost on them starts at $85 plus shipping and goes up. See my pictures page for images of some of the caps I have made. At this time I am not making officer caps ...those will be available soon!

Email or call for ordering.
